Role of the Tutor
Role of the Tutor
One main way to feel comfortable with the learning experience is to have a good relationship with your tutor. The tutor is the person who will help you succeed in your learning, give you tests, and record your success. The tutor does this by:
- listening to you
- helping you to set suitable goals
- guiding you to perform skills and handle information
- helping you to find answers to your questions
- planning learning activities
- testing you when you are ready
- keeping a record of your learning progress
At your first meeting with your tutor, make a plan to communicate on a regular basis. You should talk with your tutor:
- when it is convenient for both of you
- at the pre-arranged time, if possible
- by telephone, written messages, or in person
